One life.
Many stories.
FILM · BOOKS · TELEVISION
COMEDY · PUBLISHING
He has spent most of his adult life telling stories in one form or another — directing films, editing television and marketing campaigns, writing novels and screenplays, publishing books, making trailers, producing comedy and occasionally wondering how any of this became a career.
With a Master’s in Cinema-Television, Acuff has directed award-winning short films including Assassin Trainee, written and edited a feature film distributed by Sony, and worked as a Producer-Editor and Craft Editor across Disney, ABC, Hulu and Freeform.
He is also the author of seven books spanning science fiction, horror-comedy and semi-memoir, and the founder of BravoBay Books and BravoBay Media Group ↗.
Across every medium, his stories return to complicated characters, strange circumstances, emotional honesty and the absurdity of being alive.

THE EXTREMELY ABRIDGED
Origin story.
Military brat. Film school. Corporate videos. Wedding-video bridezillas. Hollywood. Disney. Books. Movies. Publishing. Somehow still going.
The longer version involves Ukrainian Easter eggs, film festivals David absolutely did not get into, a Gold Star from his mother, several career reinventions and an alarming number of hours spent staring at editing timelines.
