I’m so excited that the Feature film I co-wrote and edited, RESTORATION, is finally out on Amazon via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment! And we’ve received a seal of approval from the Dove Foundation for Family Films. It’s been quite the journey.
We were writing it in 2014, and JerFilm Productions raised money and shot it in 2015. We took it through Post-Production in 2016 and then began the film festival route. We picked up a whole bunch of awards and attracted the attention of a small Distributor named Inspired Family Entertainment in 2017.
They worked a deal with Sony who is taking it to market on January 1, 2019. It’s currently on Amazon and in 2019 will be released on Walmart, iTunes, Redbox and a host of other outlets and eventually Netflix.
I’ve been in some festival screenings to view it with an audience and it’s the greatest feeling in the world to see your words coming out of actors’ mouths especially when the audience is responding well: laughing, crying, cringing, gasping. I love to watch people watch the film.
Also, as a father with three daughters of my own, it’s great to have this story about a fiercely determined high-school wrestler named Samantha “Sam” Collins who struggles to make her mark in a male dominated sport.
